Welcome back!

The IRC is located on the second floor of Ashland University Library. Be sure to browse our extensive juvenile collection featuring picture books, juvenile fiction, juvenile non-fiction, big books, chapter books, graphic novels, young adult fiction and young adult non-fiction, and book kits. We also have K-12 curriculum textbooks, activity books, and K-12 supplemental curriculum resources of manipulative kits, software, audio books, posters, maps, and book kits.

The IRC is a great work space! In addition to the Ellison die machines and die collection, and laminating, we have computers, scanners, print quota and color printing. New Library & IRC Web Sites

The new library web site was successfully launched this morning! Many thanks to Shelly Shaver, Ashland University web master, for making this process a wonderfully seamless transition.

At this time we are working on updating library templates for existing external server applications such as LibGuides (banner links do not work), ERes (old library header still exists), and Journals A to Z. Each application works, but there are a few issues with links returning to the new library web site.

Thank you for your patience as these problems are rectified.

Seven new authors have been added to the IRC Author & Illustrator information page. "These pages are a series of online pathfinders; a starting point for resources on various children and young adult authors and illustrators. Included on each page is a listing of Ashland University library holdings on the specified author or illustrators, a sampling of articles available in library databases, and Internet resources." (IRC Author Page).

New IRC web page

The re-designed Instructional Resource Center web page is here! With a debut late last week, the new web page includes all of the old favorites, what's new, the children's author and information page, and class handouts, but with less clutter and fewer distractions.



Information is presented in five categories:

• IRC Information - Faculty, GA's, student workers, hours, pricing and both IRC and EDCI 131/504 FAQ's.
• IRC Collection - Information regarding the library catalog, juvenile books, curriculum textbooks, IRC & it's technology, IRC services, and quick copyright resources.
• What's new - Links to the various IRC blogs for the latest information regarding additions to the collection and news. Sidebar widgets detail new books reviewed in the IRC Book Review blog, news from this blog, and a quick catalog search tool.
• Children's Author & Illustrator Pages - The main page presents reference resources, database recommendations, and Internet links for children's authors and illustrators. Additionally, over 75 individual author and illustrator pages are presented.
• IRC Resources - A compilation of various resources available beyond the traditional IRC collection; Internet resources, education & research, course handouts, leveled book kits, and mock Caldecott pages are featured here.
