New Ellison machine and dies


A new assortment of Ellison dies, and one more prestige pro machine, arrived in the IRC yesterday. Included within this order:

Interested in using the Ellison machines and die collection? It costs a penny a cut for each cut if you use our paper. Bring your own paper and use of the Ellison machine is free.

"Five novels, four of them written for young adults, have been selected as finalists for the 2008 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature. The winner will announced on November 19th at a dinner and ceremony in New York City. Daniel Handler chairs the judging committee, which also includes Holly Black, Angela Johnson, Carolyn Mackler, and Cynthia Voigt."

IRC Technology: Scanners

The three HP Scanjet 4300 C scanners located on the listening lab (west) side of the second floor are currently out of order. Signs are posted on the scanners and help tickets for each have been submitted (10/8/08).

All other scanners on the second floor, both inside and outside of the Instructional Resource Center, are working.

Additionally, new scanner directions have been created for the HP Scanjet 4600 scanners (clear top, scan face-up). One side is a quick scan for EDCI 131/504 students scanning to file and the other is for using the Imaging Gallery.

Update: 10/17/08
Scanners are all in working order.
