IRC Hours: Spring 2021

Welcome to the Instructional Resource Center

Our spring hours schedule begins on Monday, January 25th. A complete listing of IRC hours and updates, including holidays and exceptions to regular hours of operation, are available on the IRC web site.

Monday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday - Thursday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday: Closed
Sunday Closed

IRC hours are subject to change; all hours updates are posted on the IRC website, blog, and Twitter.

IRC Hours: Jan. 16 - 22

Instructional Resources Center hours for the MLK holiday and first week of classes are:

Saturday, 1/16: Closed
Sunday, 1/17: Closed
Monday, 1/18: Closed
Tuesday, 1/19 - Thursday, 1/21: 9 am to 4 pm
Friday, 1/22 - Closed

The IRC is closed daily from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch.

IRC Hours: January 11 - 15

Instructional Resource Center hours for this week are:

Monday, January 11: 9:00 a.n. to 1:00 pm
Tuesday, January 12: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, January 13: Closed
Thursday, January 14: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Friday, January 15: Closed

Juvenile Collection

The purpose of Archer Library's juvenile collection is to support the College of Education curriculum. Intended for AU students, preservice teachers, student teachers, and faculty members, the juvenile collection is also used by Ashland community borrowers and OhioLINK patrons.

Titles added to the juvenile collection, both fiction and non-fiction, are subject to professional reviews before purchase. Review resources include, but are not limited to, Booklist, Book Links, The Horn Book Magazine, School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, and The Reading Teacher.

The juvenile collection includes award winning titles such as Newbery and Caldecott winner and honor books, Coretta Scott King award books, ALA Best Books for Young Adults, Notable Children's books, and Children's and Teacher's Choice award books.

Students are encouraged to preview, read and evaluate books before using them in a classroom setting. This step is necessary to determine if selected titles are appropriate for individual classroom situations. If you have questions about a particular title, consult with your professor or cooperating teacher before using it in the classroom.
