"A reading list with a twist! Children themselves evaluate the books and write reviews of their favorites. Since 1974, Children’s Choices have been a trusted source of book recommendations used by teachers, librarians, parents—and children themselves." -- Children's Choices Reading List
The following books, a selection of
2011 Children's Choice titles, have been recently added to the juvenile circulating collection. These books are part of a selection of resources
currently on reserve for Dr. Rycik's Tradebooks and Technology class. A number of titles selected as Children's Choice winners are already part of the library juvenile collection.
Children's Choices are announced each November by the International Reading Association. The award is co-sponsored by the
Children's Book Council. For more information about choosing the Children's Choices,
a Fact Sheet is available. A
complete listing of the 2011 Children's Choice award books and an archive of previous years may be found on the
IRA web site.
