The following new authors and illustrators, a few Newbery and Caldecott winners included, have been added to the IRC web page:

New IRC web page

The re-designed Instructional Resource Center web page is here! With a debut late last week, the new web page includes all of the old favorites, what's new, the children's author and information page, and class handouts, but with less clutter and fewer distractions.



Information is presented in five categories:
  • IRC Information - Faculty, GA's, student workers, hours, pricing and both IRC and EDCI 131/504 FAQ's.
  • IRC Collection - Information regarding the library catalog, juvenile books, curriculum textbooks, IRC & it's technology, IRC services, and quick copyright resources.
  • What's new - Links to the various IRC blogs for the latest information regarding additions to the collection and news. Sidebar widgets detail new books reviewed in the IRC Book Review blog, news from this blog, and a quick catalog search tool.
  • Children's Author & Illustrator Pages - The main page presents reference resources, database recommendations, and Internet links for children's authors and illustrators. Additionally, over 75 individual author and illustrator pages are presented.
  • IRC Resources - A compilation of various resources available beyond the traditional IRC collection; Internet resources, education & research, course handouts, leveled book kits, and mock Caldecott pages are featured here.

Library announces extended hours

Beginning on Monday, April 23rd, through Wednesday, May 9th, of finals week, the library will be open until 2:00 am on the days noted below:
  • Monday, April 23 - Thursday, April 26
  • Sunday, April 29 - Thursday, May 3
  • Sunday, May 6 - Wednesday, May 9

There are no library services, circulation, reference, reserves, or IRC, available during extended hours.

The IRC is not included in extended hours. Computers on the second floor will be accessible, but printing is not available from these computers after regular closing times.

IRC Hours: Easter Break

The Instructional Resource Center will close at 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 5th and reopen after Easter break at 8:00 am on Monday, April 9th.

Monday, April 9th, the IRC will be closed for lunch between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
